A sad update regarding missing veteran, Shannon:

"As part of our investigation to locate missing North Tyneside woman Shannon, we are now able to confirm that we believe she has entered the water off the coast at South Shields.
Shannon, aged 56, was last seen in the Cheshire Grove area of the town late on Friday, October 9."

Our thoughts go out to Shannon's family and friends.

Request for information: Has anyone heard from Keldan Lewis in the last three months?
Keldan is a veteran from Essex. His family are extremely worried about him and have had no contact with him in some time.
They are keen to ensure that he is safe and well, and any information regarding his welfare would be very gratefully received.

Alec, ex-RAF here. I 've only just joined Beacon and I worked with a great ex-REME guy, Daz. I knew he suffers with PTSD and I woke up this morning to see FB posts that he has been missing and has only just been found. I had no idea he'd disappeared, nor how long he'd been gone but nowhere did I see any mention of Beacon. Glad he's OK but I'll find out if they're aware of Beacon.

Am really struggling to try and download beacon app. The iPhone instructions are not clear. I have looked on safari and the icons/steps are not present.
Any suggestions/help. Normally able to work out but not this time. Thank you

Hi Simon, iPhones are the hardest to get sorted. If you come to the site from Facebook it might also cause issues.

search beacon alert on google/safari - click on any of the website links, then click share. Under share you will have an option to add to home page. You may have to scroll down the options a bit. Once the app is installed it will prompt you for notifications. Hope that helps.

Are there any veteran owned businesses who would like to advertise with us for free? We're looking for 3-5 businesses to highlight between now and Christmas. All you'd need is 1:1 social media images 1080px or more, and proof the business is veteran owned, supplied to [email protected] with a brief overview. Can I make a suggestion when you post these alerts.

Add the social media links. I use Facebook. When I see an alert here I go straight to your FB page so I can share it on my page.

I’ve just been to your FB page and it’s not there yet.

If you post to social media first and include links we can then go to our respective social media’s and share from there.

Unless I am missing something in which case apologies.

Maybe a coincidence but on DaySack of the Day fb page, they posted a picture of a man in civvies on a bus with a military daysack and a bivvy bag yesterday in Southampton. Can't see his face but can see his hat, clothes, and badges on bag. Could be a massive coincidence but thought I'd mention.

A special corner has been created at Liam Potts’ favourite pub so he will never be forgotten.

Lance Corporal Liam Pott, 22, was a regular at the West Tavern in Prudhoe before his tragic death.

The Coldstream Guards soldier was reported missing on August 15 following a night out with friends. His body was found in the River Tyne near Wylam Bridge three days later.

Now his dad, Paul, has asked the pub to display a Newcastle United shirt signed by Liam’s family and friends.

Have had a look for you Matty, DuckDuckGo does not support native web apps so unfortunately until we release the Android and iOS apps you wont be able to install the app (unless you use another browser).
